A nostalgic, retro feel took over the runway during Damir Doma’s A/W 2013-14 men’s show last Saturday in Paris.
“A new urban reality” in Damir’s words – in constrast to last season’s nomad-inspired looks – was complemented by the new MYKITA / DAMIR DOMA DD02 and DD03 glasses.
Visual contrasts, the play on materials and colours, and an exploration of the round form are the defining design features of the MYKITA / DAMIR DOMA frames for the 2013 autumn/ winter season. As established by predecessor model DD01, the new glasses DD02 and DD03 remain faithful to the aesthetic concept of contrasting materials: Stainless steel and acetate – a cellulose-based fibre – are the components of this material mix
”We wanted to show the beauty of the material, and therefore decided to employ acetate in its raw form – clear and pure,” explains Damir Doma. ”I believe the result is a very modern and very technical product that underlines the visual effect of my collection.”
Both models are available as sunglasses or prescription frames, and are fitted with lenses from the pioneering optical solutions specialist ZEISS.
