Dr. Elakrat graduated from medical school in Egypt, with an Honours degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1992. He continued his residency at the Ophthalmology department, Benha University Hospital, where he completed his Master of Ophthalmology degree with Honours Distinction in 2000. Dr. Elakrat completed his clinical fellowship training in refractive surgery at the Instituto Oftalmologico De Alicante in Alicante, Spain.

In 2005 Dr Elakrat has passed the Basic Science assessment in Ophthalmology including Optics & Refraction from the International Council of Ophthalmology, London, UK.

He has successfully completed the International Optometric Bridging Program followed by writing the Canadian Board Exam to be fully licensed to practice as an Optometrist on June 2010.

Dr. Elakrat has practiced in both Mississauga and Milton since 2010 and he is a board certified in Egypt, Kuwait and Ontario, Canada.

Dr. Elakrat has a special interest and passion for children’s eye health and is in service in paediatric optometry more than 5 years. He welcomes infants, toddlers and children to his practice and looks forward to serving families in Milton and surrounding community!
