Dr. Arunjot Takhar was born in Toronto and raised in Mississauga. She completed her Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and subsequently pursued her Doctorate in Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry.

Throughout her training in the United States, Dr. Takhar had the opportunity to work with various specialists in the optometric and ophthalmic fields. She worked closely with her supervisors to diagnose and manage a broad range of ocular diseases and provide comprehensive ocular health evaluations to diverse populations.

Dr. Takhar is a proud member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, the Canadian Association of Optometrists, and the College of Optometrists of Ontario. She is board certified by the Canadian Examiners in Optometry (CEO) and Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents (TPA) in Canada. In the United States, she is certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease (TMOD) and is accredited by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO).

Dr. Takhar has a keen interest in working with children and fitting contact lenses. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and cooking. She is an avid sports fan and a huge supporter of the Toronto Raptors and Maple Leafs.
